Sometimes I take a detour on my way home from work and drop into my local discount book shop. While recently browsing through the art section, I came across this book, Wallpaper: The Ultimate Guide by Charlotte Abrahams.
I have no intention of papering any walls at present, but as I browsed through the book I found that it was largely made up of vibrant, full-scale samples printed on thick uncoated paper, featuring a great mix of floral, geometric and modern prints.
I snapped the book up for £12, thinking I would probably slice up the pages to use in some mail art. But then I had a brainwave. Why not photocopy the pages instead so I can reuse the book over and over?
So here are a couple of letters going out this week using pages from the book. Enjoy!

Those are really pretty pages - especially the one with the butterflies and the with the big blue flower. Photocopying them to use them over and over is a really good idea!
ReplyDeletethat book is PERFECT for mail art, and perfect are your letters as well.
ReplyDeletei actually just went to copy a few pages of my favorite magazine for the same thing, deciding i'd rather use them over and over again as well :)
Such a good idea! I've saved a couple of loose sheets of my favourite stationery that I can't seem to find again and I keep meaning to scan them and do a re-print. Your envelopes look lovely. Ps. Sending you 10 collagey goodies this week!
ReplyDeleteMy friend works at a home decorating store in Chicago and she *loves* wallpaper and I bought her this book to send to her for her birthday last month. She loved it too. I love your idea for using the pages for envelopes. They're all gonna look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI had to buy this since you posted it!
ReplyDeleteWow, those pages are gorgeous and what a delightful idea to create envelopes, I love letters and love how creative those who still write them have become, something to take time over and be creative with and the stamps - gorgeous, we have a new series out at the moment 'Le langage de fleurs' which I am loving - so spring like and totally appropriate for someone passionate about essential oils and Aromatherapy like me. Bonne Continuation!
