In my poorer days I tried the 'essentials' or pound shop shower gels, which barely broke a foam and left you feeling grubbier than before. I don't often splurge on expensive shower gels, and my favourites are all different prices. I thought I'd share them with you today.

1. L'Occitane Verbena Shower Gel (£13)
Another luxury product, and I can see why. Not overpoweringly floral, this is a great all rounder that both men and women would love.
2. Sanctuary Body Scrub (£5.25)
I was given this once for Christmas and the Sanctuary 'smell' is one of my favourites. It combines patchouli and orange oil and isn't as abrasive as some scrubs. The shower gel is scrummy too.
3. Original Source Lavender and Tea Tree Shower Gel (£2.30)
I'm fond of Original Source products because they use natural ingredients and aren't stuffed full of synthetic perfumes. The lavender in this shower gel is so relaxing it's perfect if you're having a bath or shower in the evening.
4. Badedas Shower Gel (£2.29)
Quite a pungent one this. My sister and I buy it for my mum every year, who loves it. It has a very distinctive smell, which I've learnt to love.
5. Dove Body Wash (£2.40)
Ah, Dove. It's such a unique smell. I'm not usually one for creamy shower gels (they don't make me feel clean), but this is an exception. There's something very soothing about a big ol' bottle of Dove.
6. Rituals Summer Rain Shower Gel (£6)
I only discovered Rituals this year, and I've never turned back. This is by far my favourite of their products. What you imagine the summer air to smell like after it's rained? Yup, that's exactly what they've bottled. Heavenly.
7. Palmolive Bergamot and Verbena Shower Gel (£1.50)
Palmolive's most recent products (there's also a rose version which I love) are a complete surprise. I always considered Palmolive shower gels to be generic pound shop purchases, but these two new fragrances are divine, and the Bergamot and Verbena is my favourite.
8. Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel (£4)
I've been buying good old Body Shop shower gels since I was a child, and the fruity satsuma smell reminds me of saving my pocket money to buy the mini sized bottles. Refreshingly citrus, it's a nice break from the floral scents.
9. Original Source Mint and Tea Tree Shower Gel (£2.30)
My second Original Source entry is well deserved. Everyone I've ever recommended this shower gel too has loved it. It's a total 'wake me up!) shower gel which leaves your skin tingling. I love it
10. L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil (£16.50)
My ultimate luxury purchase. I like using body oil to soften my skin, but this shower oil actually foams, leaving you feeling soft, supple and very clean. The smell is gorgeous too. Perfection in a bottle.
What's your favourite product for getting squeaky clean in the mornings?
Dove is my absolute favourite, I always feel so clean and cosy after I've used it. I bath before bed instead of showering in the morning, but only because my hair is quite long and takes about an hour to dry.. I just don't have that kind of time in the AM, especially when I could spend that hour snoozing haha xx
ReplyDeleteWow, that Palmolive one looks wonderful. I hadn't heard of the new fragrances--I must check it out! I also shower at night. I need to wash away the dirt of the day and go to bed nicely clean.
