Not having the space in my wardrobe for all my clothes at once, during the summer my chunky knits and leather boots are packed away to make room for open-toed sandals and flouncy dresses. The process of switching over my wardrobes is always a fun event. I rediscover old favourites, and have several ‘I forgot I had that!’ moments. There are some casualties though – items that are looking a bit tired or outdated, and shoes that are scuffed and worn – and so it’s time to replenish my wardrobe: my favourite pastime of all.
My work wardrobe is in dire need of a shake-up at the moment, so I hopped onto the Psyche website to find some new winter treasures. The website features the latest items from a whole host of brands, including Ted Baker, Lipsy, French Connection, Joules, The Pretty Dress Company as well as a number of others that are firmly out of my price range.
First up, this pleated pleather dress by French Connection is THE dress of AW 13 for me. I spotted a girl wearing this exact dress in London last week, but failed to pluck up the courage to ask her where it was from. Imagine my joy when I found it online. In the flesh (or should I say fabric) it’s beautiful. I can picture myself rocking it with a pair of low-heeled ankle boots and a statement necklace. I don’t think it needs much more. With finds like this I think it’s best to let the dress do the talking.
This Ted Baker green cap-sleeved peter pan top has all the elements of the perfect blouse for me. It has capped sleeves (better on my frame), it’s green (my favourite colour) and can happily be left loose or tucked into a pencil skirt. I also love the vintagey button detail, and I’m a sucker for a peter pan collar too.
These Navy floral trousers from Joules are too good to pass up. Cropped, navy, floral, a beautiful shape and would despite the bold pattern would be very versatile. It’s not often I find floral trousers that I find tasteful, but these definitely cut the mustard for me.
Every winter wardrobe needs a brown leather bag, and this Chestnut tote bag from Ugg even has a cosy sheep-skin lining to wiggle your fingers into when you’re feeling a bit cold on the train. It would definitely make the process of hunting for my keys more enjoyable
