One of Frank's resolutions is to 'learn to cook'. Over 34 years he's become pretty adept at opening jars of sauce and combining them with veggies and pasta for dinner, but this year he's become a bit more determined to expand his culinary skills. Armed with a couple of recipes, he whipped up some fantastic concoctions, first up being this chicken and leek stroganoff a la Jamie Oliver.
Next up, Italian cottage pie, which I'd found in a Sainsbury's several years ago. Instead of mash you use gnocchi and mozzarella. It is one of my favourite dishes and Frank did a sterling job.
A very proud chef! While we're on the topic of food, I made potato boulangere
And if you're not all fooded out at this stage, I can thoroughly recommend Nigella Lawson's easy sticky toffee pudding, an unky, gooey bowl of deliciousness.
Not quite food, but nevertheless I kept Frank topped up on bloody Marys, which I'd never had before and definitely tasted like a boozy lunch in a glass!
